KatiT47 3 Posted December 25, 2018 I’m 7 days out and I have no problems drinking Water or anything. I don’t have any discomfort really and I am so worried that my surgery didn’t work. I am afraid that I will be able to eat without problems when that time comes. 3 Coexister, amypel and Zebby67 reacted to this
pinkbunies 359 Posted December 25, 2018 Your surgery worked. It takes time. Have you had the big bowel movement yet ? Within three months nothing will fit. Get ready for it And hang in there. 3 1 1 ClarkRomulus, FancyChristine15, Strivingforbetter and 2 others reacted to this
DonRobbie 4 Posted December 25, 2018 I'm exactly a week post-op (DS) and it seems to vary from day to day, even hour to hour, how much restriction I feel. Sometimes it's pretty dang easy to get fluids down, other times it's a slow struggle. I have felt a few times like I didn't have much restriction even though I know perfectly well I did get a sleeve and all the rest (I watched the screen while I did my barium swallow). 1 KatiT47 reacted to this

People only feel restriction with fluids if they have a lot of swelling which makes it difficult for the liquid to trickle through the stomach. liquids don't stay in your pouch, but just "slide" through into your intestines. You won't feel real restriction until you get to soft foods. 3 1 sillykitty, Coexister, KatiT47 and 1 other reacted to this

Congratulations on getting your DS! You're in for some amazing changes in your health. The DS is hands down the best thing I could have done for myself. This will be a year of big changes for you. Enjoy the journey.

My daughter and I had surgery together ❤️ She is healing entirely different than I. She barely gets in Water and juice.

Indoors now I have to wear sweatshirts and sweaters, shoes and socks all the time. My hands and feet are freezing. Surgery 12/17 and I'm feeling the same way! Surprisingly easy recovery so far. I can get the liquids down easily. Maybe we're just lucky? Let's hope that's the case! Good luck. 1 KatiT47 reacted to this

I'm surprised that I am cold a lot now too. I knew that was coming with weight loss but I was expecting it after I had lost 50+ pounds, not right after surgery. 1 WNC AV8R reacted to this
magpie26 244 Posted December 27, 2018 Be happy! I couldn't get all my liquids in for months! My face looked different (take a selfie every day or every few days) but I felt like my body wasn't doing anything. All the sudden my 24s turned into 18s overnight. I have the fullness restriction but no foods bother me. 104 pounds down! 3 1 1 DanieHall, WNC AV8R, Zebby67 and 2 others reacted to this
GradyCat 3,695 Posted January 2, 2019 I'm just now starting the soft foods phase 3 weeks post-op, and I can already tell that food makes a big difference from liquid. I can eat so very little before feeling full, which is a good feeling knowing that the surgery has worked. I've lost 15 pounds and 16 inches already in 21 days, so I know it's working and will continue to work if I just be patient and follow the program. 1 1 KatiT47 and Zebby67 reacted to this

I felt the same way and 3 months out I have lost a lot less than others have...They say we are lucky to not feel restricted, but a part of me was relying on those restrictions...sighSent from my SM-G930P using BariatricPal mobile app 1 Wickedwinner reacted to this
