Ok, My doctor has no pre OP only requirements is stay same weight or lose if possible.

So after Tuesday night I am going to try and stick to liquids the best I can. I know I heard everyone talking about how much Better it is for the liver and surgery.

I'm still freaking out and that makes me want a eat. I guess this will change after surgery... anyone else go through it too?

Four days, 4 argghhh... I was ready months ago Now I'm doing the what if's...

I'm so glad everyone is here for support.

I bought pho broth for pre op for my liquid as well as chicken and sugar free apple drink, Jello and Protein drinks...I really hope I can stick to it. I would feel better knowing I did it for a better surgery.

Well it's good you're doing your best to prepare yourself for this major life change. Just as I was informed by my surgeon, your tastebuds may do a complete 180° on you, and all those postops nourishments you stocked up on, may end up tasting like something you've never had before. So just don't overdo them, until after your surgery, you can try them out one at a time, and see which of them you can tolerate. Best of luck to you though [emoji7]

The items I got are for pre op. I wanted to try and stay on a clean liquid as much as I can Wednesday and Thursday even though I have no pre op diet...
Oh, ok gotcha! Was just worried about afterwards, cos my tastebuds and me are almost frenemies now, since they're rejecting the same Protein Shake I've been having preop and now they taste like s*** postop. Lol

Hope it gets better. My likes are really high for foods so it may be good if I don't like a lot of foods. But for health hope it's not the foods that are better for us post op...

My Dr said low carb diet for pre-op and for the most part I'm sticking with it. I'm doing Protein Shakes once per day, veggies/salad another and then really watching what I do for my 3rd meal and Snacks. We have our Christmas gathering tomorrow with my kids and grandkids and I know I'm gonna eat. I'll have a shake in the morning and that's it till we eat. I told my daughters they had to cook the sweets. Not even doing the normal Christmas candy making this year. Lol. I'm having surgery Friday too. Soooo excited!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
