Well the day you prayed for, worked so hard for is almost b here. Try to get some rest tonight, I'm sure by now you have all the loose ends tied up at home, right?
Okay tomorrow get up and go to your facility with firm conviction of the rightness of what you're doing, hope in your ❤, belief in your surgeon and their staff and plaster a great big_(1 step below S***eating grin) smile on your face, it is YOUR DAY, you are the STAR OF IT ALL.! But today do something I failed to do, take measurements all over your body, this is the LAST TIME you will be THIS SIZE! Yes, hips, waist, around "the Girls" but also upper and lower arms, wrists, thighs, calves and ankles and around your neck. Don't have to share these with, anyone else, these are a point of reference for the future! When I started losing, first places were forarms, wrists, face and neck, now Much of the rest is getting thinner but that was my first areas.
And if you can and have someone help ing, frontal, back and profile pictures. Later when you look at them you will be gratified by your changes. I wish I had taken more pictures of the people at my hospital, they all treated me so fine and it would have been like a pictorial autograph. I have tried and tried to get a picture of my Dr Needleman, finally almost 6 months after meeting him,i got one in what I call his natural plumage, Scrubs, I had an unexpected rehospitalization November 28- December 5th and i got it Then!
And promise you will update us when you make it safely(as You Will) through your surgery! Auntie Frustr8 will be Waiting!

Walk walk walk. Take your time and rest a lot.. the first week your body will feel like it was hit by a truck.. you will be slow moving, but the more you walk the quicker you will heal. SIP SIP SIP even if you are not thirsty. It takes all day to get 64 ounces of Water in. literally. I know that seems impossible now, but if you constantly sip then you can do it. As you progress through the food stages.. its even harder, so set timers, schedules.. plan...(im not one to talk i been drinking this cup of coffee for an hour LOL) I am behind already today. You will be going all day drinking. Its a constant planning your food. Dont be alarmed, your sense of smell triples LOL you can and do smell everything! Switch up your protein..get a couple different types so you dont get bored with the same thing over and over. If you are a coffee drinker. use Protein for your creamer.. does wonders!

Good Luck! See you on the losers bench!

Jazzy1125 forgot to mention that with 64 oz in , that got to go somewhere, in between sips you will be peeing, you will begin to believe your kidneys are by now a couple wrung-out sponges. One of my Bari- friends said that you should take your cup or bottle with you since that's where you will be spending most of Your Time! But it is all good, you're cleaning You out and it should help your recovery. She said her doctor asked,if she was getting any exercise? Yep chair to loo to bed and occasionally to the kitchen to fix family members food. Would he care to issue her a FitBit?

Good luck and congrats for getting this far. It wasn't nearly as rough as I expected.

I was pretty much back to normal 4 days post op , and would agree that walking and sipping are important . I would say to not stress day 3-4-5 post op when ur home about getting full 64oz of liquid . U will be super bloated from IV and sore in the esophagus and stomach so swelling is super hard . Just do ur best . I just finished day 5 and feel normal - walked 2.5 miles today and easily got in liquids . Good luck ! 🍀

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
