Hi Guys,

Just stumbled across this bulletin board, great to see others sharing their experiences and stories so here is mine :)

Averaging around 130kg for the past 10 years my battles with overeating have caused everything from Type 2 Diabetes to high blood pressure and everything in between. It wasn't about me eating bad food, it was the over indulgence of the food itself. After attempting every diet known to the human race a decision was made to have the sleeve surgery done.

The Surgery was performed by Dr KunzinKovas @ St George Private Hospital in Kogarah NSW, Australia in Early March 2019. The first 3 weeks were in and out of the hospital for various circumstances. I won't lie it was hell for the first month. 16 Weeks after the surgery I weigh in a 95Kg from 120Kg just before Surgery, it has been the best decision of my life.

My Blood sugar levels are now before 5.5, no more high blood pressure, quit smoking 4 months ago. I feel a million dollars and now have the advantage of teaching my body how to eat again without the drug of indulgence in me.

I relate Shaye! You are making great progress! For me, the pounds were dropping off so fast the first month I was hoping I would maintain that but now it's slow and steady. I've had a few stalls and my weight is always more than what I get at home when I go in. I was so busy checking my weight daily to try to get down to my goal weight for surgery it has been hard to get out of that mindset. I am trying to focus on the inches I am losing, the new energy I have and checking my weight once a week. Listen to your new stomach and the pounds will keep coming off.

Hey you guys!!! I was sleeved March 25 by Dr. Foreman in Huntsville (Shay!!). My scale ALWAYS reads 5lbs less than my surgeon's office and 3lbs less than my general practitioner, so when I log I always add the 5lb so I won't be disappointed at follow ups!! LOL

My progress has been SLOW but steady............ well.............. steady-ish. I have noticed that my body changes one week and I lose on the scale the next week.... it's a weird pattern, but I'll take it :)

Hi all!! I was revised from VSG to RNY for severe GERD on 3/18. My pre-op diet weight was 251 and today it is 216.6. Weight loss has slowed and I’ve had a few stalls. Shark week sucks because I gain despite changing nothing. Slow and steady is better for my body but my mind doesn’t agree and that is a daily struggle. How are all the other VSG to RNY revisions doing?

Girl same. Mine was Mar 11 SW 261 CW 217 GW 150 ---- so super close to you. I feel like I'm doing a little worse actually. But yes... I feel like it's sooooo slowwwww and my next follow up is on Monday...and I always weigh more on their scales. It's so depressing. I've hit another stall just now...which sucks because I was stuck at 225 forever...then dropped to this about 2 weeks ago... and now...nothing.

Been stalled for 3 weeks now at 228. HW 270 SW 248. I went back to the basics and hope that this will pass soon and I will start dropping lbs again. The inches are coming off in the meanwhile so that makes me happy.

Just got through the grandmother of all stalls and all it took was a cold virus to get me losing again. I’ve lost an entire dress size so I’m digging in to the back of my closet to reacquaint myself with old clothes. I’m touring Hoi An, Vietnam this weekend and trying very hard not to go into the fabric shops to have new clothes made. I’ve still got more weight to lose and a bespoke closet at the end of my assignment is just the incentive I need to stay motivated.

What is a NOLA gal like you doing in Viet Jam? Is it business or a pleasure trip? Don't know if I could go there or not, I'm sure it is TRULY beautiful in 2019. ME-----
I remember the Viet Nam War,too strongly, just my hangup, I probably wouldn't visit the EUROPEAN concentration camps either, I avoid locations of human suffering.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
