So, I've noticed an odd behavior in myself after losing some weight.

I've lost 33 pounds so far - not the biggest deal in the world, but I definitely see a difference. When I've lost weight like this in the past, I usually feel really good and can't wait to show off my body. This time however, I find I'm doing the opposite - I hide my body. I wear my biggest, puffiest coat, haven't bothered putting on makeup, and try to draw as little attention to myself as possible.

It's odd because when I catch my reflection I like how I'm looking smaller, and when I catch men checking me out more I feel flattered. So I'm not sure why I'm feeling compelled to hide my progress?

(Side note: I also find that I wish I could just hide away until this transformation is complete and I'm at my end goal.)

Don’t hide it. Embrace it. You took a journey that most cant do. You are getting a healthier you. I was thinking the same way but i dont want to be in denial making up lies about how I lost it. Just embrace you

The weird thing is I'm totally open about my surgery on social media and with close family, but it's when I go out in public I want to be covered up. I don't know if it's cause I still don't feel 100% so I don't want extra attention on me, or if it's cause I don't feel like I have to prove myself versus how I used to feel - but I just seem to want to hide away!

Aw thank you! I'd have thought I'd be the opposite too, I'm surprised I'm reacting like this!

I had to work on body image. It took a while to find a comfort zone with new attention/compliments. The weight loss is rapid and it takes time for your head to wrap itself around the physical changes.

You are beautiful inside and out! Own it!

I am not very far out, sleeved on 11/8, but I think that what you are feeling is normal. When people notice it opens you up to scrutiny and questions. For me, it also forces me to confront the uncomfortable reality of how big I am, and how I was even bigger.

I think you nailed it for me. The weight loss is so rapid that even though I'm happy with how my body is looking, I'm not used to it because it changed so quickly. Because I'm not used to it, I'm not confident in it. It's like putting on a new pair of roller skates - you're not used to them yet so you don't feel comfortable showing them off.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
