One month stall

Recommended Posts

I know there are hundreds of posts about stalls...
However, mine is now really bothering me.
I have been stalled, bouncing between the same 3 lbs for a month now. I’m only 4 1/2 months post op.
I have been getting my 60+ grams of Protein, I’ve been getting my 70 oz of Water, if I eat a carb it because I have a little room left and it’s a healthy carb. I’m exercising 2-3 times a week cardio and doing weights every day at home. I take my Vitamins.< br /> I am beyond frustrated and want to cry. I was on a great steady pace the first 3 months, averaging 10 lbs a month. Everyone keeps saying take advantage of this first 6-12 months...it’s hard to stay positive when you feel like you’ve lost one of those months.
Any help would be so appreciated.

That's just the way it is. I only lost 4 lbs last month, but I've lost 3 lbs this week. I can't explain it by means of a change in diet or exercise. Irregularity seems to be par for the course. If I were you, I'd relax and have faith in the process - you've lost shed-loads of weight since July - it seems to be working very nicely for you! 🙂

I agree with @looly weight loss happens how it happens. Trust your efforts, don't revert, revel in the victories you have won thus far, play the long game, take photos and CONGRATS 💜

Are you at a weight that you were stuck at previously in your life? Some of us have had weights we were at for months or even years, that’s why many of us have closets full of two or three....or even more sizes of clothing. If this is the case for you, you may be fighting through a stall that includes one of your previous set points and I feel like that takes a bit more patience to get through.

If this is not the case try changing something. Are you eating the same things every day? Are you eating the same amount of calories? Try eating a bit more one day then less the next. Maybe try intermittent fasting for a week. Try some new exercises if you are doing the same ones.

All of this considering though, the body will stall out during weight loss for 90 percent of us. It is so discouraging when it is happening, and we all understand that!

Remember too as you get closer to your goal weight, it will become harder to lose weight.

Try to remain positive, focus on what you are doing to improve your health each day right now rather than how disappointing it is that the scale isn’t moving.

If you continue to follow your plan, the stall will eventually break when YOUR body is ready!

I am the stall queen...and have been since about 3 weeks after surgery, I'm so used to it now. Since surgery i have never lost weight like others do every day.

Like @GreenTealael stated it will happen when it happens so don't get worked up, the weight will come off as long as you are doing your part. ((Hugs))

Thanks all! I feel like a stall queen as well. My patten has been 2 weeks of no scale movement then a week and a half of a quick drop. So a month is a long time for me.

And that’s kinda interesting, I am at a weight that I spent a lot of time at.

Yes!

Stick with it. Don’t worry, your body is resting somewhere it was comfortable. Same thing happened to me.

From about 3 1/2 to 7 weeks I was in a very frustrating stall. Then in 1 week I lost 10 lbs and I continue to lost (but not at 10lbs a week - unfortunately!!). Just keep doing what you are doing and know that this is 100% normal!!

I’m in the same boat as you and I just figured out I needed to up my calorie intake too. Hope it works for you and me both 🖤

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
