I was thinking this time of year is stressful for a lot of people in terms of weight loss and a perfect gift to yourself would be (if you can handle it) to put the scale away. While that's really hard for a lot of people to successfully do, the seasonally appropriate way to put the scale ways to gift wrap it to yourself .

Maybe first toss the old batteries - probably need new ones to recalibrate it and gift wrap those too, then gift wrap the scale to open it the appropriate time .

You can give yourself the gift of being stressed free about constantly weighing yourself during this time if it causes you anxiety, when you should be really focusing on living life and spending time with your family and friends. If it doesn't this post is not for you.

An even bigger gift is when you open the scale you can use the number that reads as your new beginning weight (whether you open it in the New Year's or just after the holiday) and not worry about the ups and downs or the Stalls. Still track and measure foods and hydrate. Run the idea past your teams as usual.

Let me know what y'all think!

Safe Journey 🎈

It is hard to regard a weight scale as a fitting gift. When I have owned them , they always had a nasty smirk and ridiculed me. Perhaps if I invested in a digital one its attitude toward me would be better. Ah we shall see, but at this point I am satisfied to be weighed at doctors offices even if it turns out to be only monthly !📚

I actually put my scale in the trunk of my car Saturday morning and will take it out Thursday night to weigh myself Friday morning and then put it back in the trunk when I go out to leave for work.

That... is... genius.

So Wanda247, are you still on the same plan where the scale is invited in once a week? Like🐭 🐺I too think you have a perfect solution!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
