30lb pound in 40 days sounds pretty good to me, thats 30lb in almost six weeks.

Take into account, the first week or so when there is the surgery Fluid gain, take into account the typical 3rd or 4th week stall, all in all you are doing well.

But generally, we know nothing about you, your height, weight, how many calories you are consuming, how much you lost pre-op....etc etc...I still say its pretty good, and your expectations may possibly be too high dependent on your start weight.

I'm confused. You are 40 days out and thought you would be in maintenance mode by now?

you are doing fine. This is a tool and not magic. We still have to do all the work. 30 pounds in 40 days is amazing! Just keep at it and you will see the weight come off.

Quit watching 600lb Life. LOL. Very few peeps lose 50lbs per month. ROFL! Most will average 8-10lbs per month over time. That's still 100-120lbs per year.

Yes I love watching that show but I'm not basing my lost by theres. I myself have felt like I have come to a complete stop but maybe it's just me wishing I could see the difference already

@krazymel24 Hi there...it's pretty typical to lose quite a bit of weight within 30 days after surgery then comes the stalls, most of us have them and go through that, just keep following your plan and the weight will come off, this is a lifetime commitment if you want to be successful and keep the weight off.

Please just concentrate on getting in your water/liquids, Protein, log your food on whatever app that works for you and try to get in some walking if you are able...be realistic with your goals and be kind to yourself. You have a wonderful tool, enjoy it and make it work for you!

Don't obsess over it, take one day at a time. It's not a race honey. It's about getting healthy and figuring out a plan of how to keep this weight off for the rest of our lives.

I wish you nothing but the best on your journey, we are all here rooting for you ✌️ ((Hugs))

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
