Kidney stone? Who knows?

Recommended Posts

Well I did it. Hauled myself off to gp then Emergency coz I'm 90% sure i have a kidney stone.

Praise God I got seen relatively quickly but xray didn't show stone. I do have an infection though. Got bounced up to gynae who are pretty sure colicky pain isn't from the Mother of All Fibroids sitting there (which I can feel oh so much better since losing 20kgs - it's like a bloomin bowling ball in my belly).

So, they sent me home with buscopan, augmentin and best wishes. Waaaa I'm still pretty sure it's a kidney stone!

Keep your fluids up high, make that critter swim for its life.
Hey while I have your attention the Columbus Ohiomosque had a Open Mosque over the weekend , had a very nice turnout , the Iman said we may do this more often. Had a lot of Somali relocating there, not as big community as Minneapolis Minn. , that's largest group there.

I'm even giving @Matt_Z a run for his money in the drinking Water stakes.

Lovely to hear about the mosque open day! Definitely good for meeting neighbours and building bridges!

What are you going to do about the fibroid?
They've given me an outpatients appointment in the new year. Not sure really coz it's not doing much. I'm not getting any problematic fibroid symptoms like excessive bleeding and clotting, so, dunno if there is much point doing anything to it.

Thanks [emoji106] yeah I went to my GP before the emergency dept yesterday - it's kinda how it works here. I had stones about ten years ago and it is no joke that is for sure.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
