I am 6 day post, I am kinda scared because I feel like a million dollars. I have felt this way from day one. Am I in for a surprise? I have lost 19 lbs already and I am having no problems with anything. Been to the mall walking, even had my grandkids over night. I'm waiting for something to go wrong.

Same here 😊 I had bypass on the 11th. I am waiting for something.....but everything is going well. I went to Sams to walk yesterday due to the rain. I am on full liquids and handling it very well. I can take a nice drink of Water without pain.

Likewise. I had my surgery on the 10th also and I feel I’m doing well. Have lost 17lbs, and I get all my liquids in. I stopped pain med on Wed evening and haven’t had any issues. Have little pains here and there but I’ve been going out and about since Thu. And like you I’m thinking, what’s going to go wrong. Good luck with it all!!

Well, my experience has been a little different. I'm 6 days post today. I had a complication in surgery which I think has made my soreness worse. Otherwise, I never had nausea or vomiting and was able to get fluids and Proteins in off the bat. Stopped pain meds 2 days post, but that twinge on the left it still ouchie. I've been pretty tired, but plan to go out to walk around the dreaded Walmart today because I need OUT!!! This morning I woke up with a bit of nausea and just kind of a crappy feeling. Hoping it passes. Have a feeling like something is sitting in the bottom of my esophagus. Overall I'm pretty pleased with my progress but I am glad I took an extra week off work. I think I need that adjustment time.

I'm sure you will feel better soon, your body just went through a big change. I was told the more you move around the better recovary will be. The minute I got to my room after the recovary room I got up to go pee and had to get my own cloths on and walked aroud the floor of the hospital. Every time I woke up I walked a lap and added a lap each time. Went to Walmart on my way home. I have had the last 4 years of my life taken from me. I had a stroke. Meningitis, chronic lyme, Gilligan barrett syndrome. I was tired of not bei.g healthy i have 2 grandkids now and nothing is going to stop me from living life to the fullest. Kerp your head up and stay positive I'm sure i am going to have bumps in the road. But not like the past. Best of luck in you recovary. Keep my updated

Thanks! I was also the model patient, lapping every hour or more, doing all the stuff. Still am. Just having less of a great day today. Due to rain, my walking has been limited to the house, but looking forward to getting out today!

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
