Kelise 5 Posted February 5, 2019 Good question. I'm 52. I don't feel too old for the surgery since it's never too late to change your life. However, I have noticed that most youtubers are really young, comfort with social media made be a factor, there. I also read that some of the surgeons say that age is one of the determining factors in results. How are you fairing 50+ers. Have your results been as expected? Have any of you reached normal BMI? 1 1 GrandDivaFee and Healthy_life2 reacted to this

The reason I made this choice is because of all of the pain I have in my legs and feet. I had a stroke 4 yrs ago. Then 4 month later I had accepted meningitis was in a coma for a week, I have chronic lyme disease and then got Gillian berriet syndrome so over 4 yrs I gained 179 lbs I almost lost my life. I now have 2 grandsons 2 and 3 and I cant even move without major pain. I feel this will get me my life back and give me the chance to live. I think age has nothing to do with wanting to feel good about yourself, 50 is the new 30. Take the chance to be healthy. I have already lost 19 lbs and can't wait yo continue to get healthy. Let me know how things go for you. Get excited to start your life again. Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app We have the same surgery date! I am 52 yrs old. Frustr8 7,886 Posted February 6, 2019 Age takes 3rd Place, behind Confidence and Commitment in importance. If you know you can, you surely will do good. My own recovery has not been perfect, nut I would never go back to before. I have now been granted the time and opportunity to get well, I was running out of time before. If I could have looked ahead I might not chose exactly this path, but it is still a good road to travel on, daily I'm getting better, I have my hopes and dreams just like every RnY and Sleeve and the others, to live a healthier, thinner, fitter life, so what if my transit time is longer?, I will still get to victory lane. I was built after WWII when people were made of strong steel, not fiberglass or plastic, I was created in God's Image & fashioned for endurance. I am IN IT to WIN IT, I shall still claim my share of victories. Yesterday was my 5 month Surgiversity, spent it in another hospital , Mount Carmel East, having testing run on another section of my 73 year old body. How did I do? Who knows? They never tell you anything, technician said because I was so compliant he got lovely images to pass to my Cardiologist. Okaybee, I guess that is a good thing in the long run. You'll see me chug- chugging along, look for someone with a red'gold thin pixie haircut, loose sweats and rubber tubing hanging out my left upper arm, there can't be more than one of me out there! If you wave---- I'll surely wave back!

GrandDivaFee 4 Posted February 20, 2019 I'm 52 and I am so happy with my decision.... Yes I wish I'd made it the first time I started inquiring about it. Well actually I take that back...when I first started looking into it the sleeve wasn't around... But still and all I don't think age should deter a person because at least they will be happier and healthier 1 DanaC84 reacted to this
