Strange question, I know

Recommended Posts

 I used to be a figure skater and a cross country track runner, could my body remember that? I have been walking 60 minutes twice a day and not lost any weight. My "apron" has gone down and my legs are more muscular, my pants are starting to fall off, but the scale is not moving. Anyone else with this problem. I don't think the body can remember that far back can it?:help:

The scale doesn't show it sometimes but I've lost a pant size plus a little more. Bra size is FINALLY going down if just a tad.

I need to excercise though.

thanks everyone. I am so worried that my lack of weight loss will adversely affect my surgery. I was so athletic as a youngster, as I said before, figure skating, cross country track, tennis team ROTC color guard etc... I hope that is all it is. I weigh myself on the same scale at work and I work in a hospital so I assume it is correct. I also resist weighing every day since I pass the scale a hundred times a day.

I was told by my trainer that because I was active in my teens and extremely flexable when I was younger I would be able to get that back because Our bodies remember things.

Like we have all heard about the fat cells not going away just shrinking and that they remember being fat. Our Muscles remember doing the active things.

I believe that being active when I was younger helped me a lot - I've always been quite athletic, if not gifted, then certainly competent at most things. If nothing more, I grew up playing sport and gained a love of being active that motivated me to exercise later on in life.

Yes, muscle has memory. Keep doing what you are doing and you'll be there soon.

This made my day.

For years I worked in retail and my legs, butt and back were rock hard.

Then I got a cush job and over the years got flabby.

I hope these muscles remember me back in the day.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
