ELENATION 0 Posted November 13, 2007 Common smilies will also pull from their ASCII equivalents... e.g. and You can also enter the title of the smilie between two colons like this: :pound: ...to produce this: :pound: Thank you much, I'm learning more to use all the features, needless to say my computer skills aren't great... Right now I'm experimenting...
ELENATION 0 Posted November 13, 2007 Whenever you choose to do a quote, such as I have just done, you will find a bunch of these little creatures at the foot of the page. If you do not see them then just move the scroll bar down. Then move your cursor down to the appropriate smiley, hit enter once, and this will appear wherever you had last left off while working on your message. When you are writing a new message, one without a quote, you will not have access to the smileys until you hit the preview post button. Once you do that you will be able to not only proof read and edit your message before posting it, you will also be able to load it up with the appropriate smiley guys. You can get rid of them in the usual fashion; you simply centre your cursor on top of the item and then hit delete. I hope my explanation makes sense to you. I do come from analog land, which is the land before all things digital. :phanvan Everything is complicated for me. I'm trying this again....just testing...sorry to bug you...:omg::cry:whoo: I'll see if it worked now...

transformer 1 Posted November 14, 2007 What one finds humorous, another may find offensive. Such is the upredictable nature of humor. Fat jokes come to mind about now for some unknown reason... Whether Derick's added comment is deemed funny or not, I have to say I got to chuckling when the point was made that Catholics aren't persecuted like Muslims. Are you sure that we're all living on the same planet or have some folks ventured off into a parallel universe? Check out these links if you need a brief history lesson on the persecution of Catholics and other Christians around the globe: Catholic Culture : Library : A Roman Holiday: Global Persecution of the Catholic Church America: Christians in the Middle East face persecution, pushed to the periphery - Catholic Online Persecution of Christians - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Anti-Catholicism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Catholic Educator's Resource: Current Issues/Persecution of Christians Persecution of the Catholic Church Bolshevik Persecution of the Catholic Church Persecution of people of all religions occurs throughout the world--it's not a practice specially reserved for those of the Muslim faith unfortunately. Everyone in the world needs to learn to be tolerant of the religious beliefs of others. On the other hand, no one should be running around persecuting (or murdering) others just because they think their religion is "better" than another or that it is the only "right" belief system to have. That type of behavior is rather psychotic--you'd think studying religion would make someone act better, not worse! :faint: Doesn't anyone learn how to get along in kindergarten any more? phyllisc 0 Posted November 14, 2007 Derrick, You forgot to mention automatic pilot for driving around town in your burqa. That would be a very nice safety feature since it scares the crap out of me when I have to share the road. Of course I guess that would be a none issue in some countries since women probably are not allowed to drive.
pippinje 0 Posted November 14, 2007 You know. If this was RL and someone said something to someone which may not have been intended for you and you overheard it. I bet there are some of you who would say your piece about being offended even though you were not being spoke to. Same applies here. If you didn't like the joke, ignore it and go on. Why add to your anxiety? I thought it was funny. But I am not easily offended.:faint:
pippinje 0 Posted November 14, 2007 So if someone tells a sex joke I should be offended because I am a virgin? :heh: JUST KIDDING PEOPLE! :faint: Trying to lighten the air.

DerickM 1 Posted November 14, 2007 not in rants and raves! then we have to act all "leave it to beaver" and that would just be sickening...besides if I am nice and polite for too long I get hives
