Letsgetgoing2018 448 Posted December 11, 2018 Sorry-I’m sure this is in a million other posts....I am very uncomfortable with low back pain this evening. Is tylenol all I can safely take post sleeve?
irish_sleever 50 Posted December 11, 2018 if you have some codeine/tramadol you could take that too. Most surgeons prefer you to avoid nsaids but if its very bad a one off 100mg diclofenac suppository might do the trick and will generally be tolerated well but always check with your own docs office before trying any NSAIDS. Jazzy1125 1,010 Posted December 11, 2018 most docs do not allow NSAIDS... did you get a list of from your Dr for meds that are ok to take? We are not doctors in here (that I know of lol) so you might want to be extra careful with any recommendations. I do know for sure we are not supposed to have NSAIDS.. and always follow your doctors orders.
irish_sleever 50 Posted December 11, 2018 I am a doc and a pain doc at that but do double check with your own docs office at the very least its a good idea to have them in the loop on any new meds you start taking.
Orchids&Dragons 9,047 Posted December 11, 2018 So you have a heating pad?
anonbaribabe 236 Posted December 11, 2018 1 hour ago, Orchids&Dragons said: So you have a heating pad? This was going to be my suggestion, too. I'm pre-op, but typically don't take NSAIDS for low back pain anyway because I don't feel like it does anything. A heating pad eases some of the pain. If I don't have a heating pad with me, sometimes I'll use Icy Hot (the roller ball or the pads), but I don't think it works as well as the heating pad. Letsgetgoing2018 448 Posted December 11, 2018 Thanks everyone. Used a heating pad-seemed to help. Will reach out to my team today to ask what else is safe to use. 1 Orchids&Dragons reacted to this
S@ssen@ch 745 Posted December 11, 2018 Have you tried arnica gel? If I get some back pain and don't want to (or can't) take medications, I massage a bit of arnica gel into the area and POOF, I feel better! Very effective for mild to moderate pain.
pinkbunies 359 Posted December 26, 2018 I personally love Codine or Norco. If I take anything else, it causes my stomach to bleed when I poop.
