I have never had a stomach binder but wear a lot of compression gear, which I think has a similar concept. It does help me feel more secure and it prevent chafing while at the gym. It also helps keep me warm!

My surgery instructions specifically said not to wear one, don't know why.

They gave me an abdominal binder at the hospital as soon as I got up to walk. I used it until my staples came out and then didn’t feel I needed it after that. It made everything feel better and supported.

I asked my doc about using an abdominal binder and he said I didn't need one, but could get one if I wanted. Ultimately, I didn't and I'm kind of glad. Right after surgery, even wearing tight tank tops was super uncomfortable. I can't imagine what it would have been like with a tight binder around my abdomen.

Actually, it felt great, much better than being unsupported.

Well only thing I can come up with, sometimes when you wear a girdle or maybe binder, doctors think your muscles grow weak from not being used. One doctor yelled years ago my Mama' s abdominal muscles were soft like lasagna noodles because she wore a girdle frequently and didn't let them get exercised and remain strong. I always thought him a bit of a grouch myself.

I was given one in the hospital and honestly, it helped me tremendously... I carry most of my weight in my stomach and all that weight just pulled on me after surgery, having lots and lots of scar tissue cut/burned through (I've had three classic c-sections) did not help the pulling/burning sensation either. The binder helped keep everything taut so it the weight of my stomach didn't make me hurt worse. I would take it off at different intervals of the day, but if I was up moving around, I had it on for the support.

I wouldn't say it's necessary but if it's something you want to try, go for it. Either you like/need the support or you don't like/need it.

I had one after Lipo and found it uncomfortable and unnecessary. I had zero issues walking around immediately after surgery; there was no discomfort. The only pain I had was slight muscle soreness which just felt like I did a bunch of situps.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
