Anyone else experiencing very vivid dreams post op? My dreams are way more intense then they ever were preop. Some of them very fun and exciting ๐Ÿ˜Ž some of them not but mostly all good. Not sure if itโ€™s from not eating as much and losing weight quickly or something else. Not worried about it but just one of those unexpected side effects.

I've had this too. I think its because I have been sleeping worse and more since surgery. Dreams are associated with a shallower sleep phase.

Well I have also on my side the fact that people in my age group, okay Johnnie Cochran invoked the Race card, I'll invoke the Age card, but this true- we cat nap instead of solid wads of sleep at a time. Best I can do, 3-4 hour increments, oh I USALLY drop back off, if not there I am! and it's NO BIG Thing if I don't. I am rather entertained by watching the green light blink on my TPN pump machine, yeah maybe come Spring I 'll buy me a LIFE! One lead pipe cinch, the Rites of Spring will not include junky skunky. Fast food , that button thankfully is no longer able to be pushed! And for me that's a Dream Fulfilled!๐Ÿ‘ผ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ˜‡

I am SO glad to hear others talking about this! I had RNY on 11/28 and since then, I've been having really vivid and almost symbolic dreams - one of a ghost sitting on top of me and I told it to go away. Perhaps I'm getting rid of things "weighing me down"? lol Every night is at least one crazy dream.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
