Hungry or full?

Today is day 8 post surgery. I have a lot of stomach gurgling and pain. I can't tell if I drank too much or if they are hunger pains! Any advice?

If you cannot gauge by feeling (I never could) try strictly by measurements. Don't exceed the amount for the stage you are at (1/8 cup, 1/4 cup, 1/3 cup ,1/2 cup, 1oz, 2oz, 3oz, 4oz, etc.)

My money is on acid + a healing tummy. It's more likely than hunger at that stage.

I guess your best bet is just to go by what or wheather you've consumed liquid already or not. I think I'm mentally hungry but not physically. Personally when I'm full I burp up whatever it is I'm consuming at the time. That tells me I've had enough.

Apparently I am swallowing a lot of air when I drink. Dr. recommended exhaling before drinks. Everyone's always told me I was full of hot air. Now there is proof!

I'm 8 days post as well. I have a combo of both. I finally was elevated to the shakes which I bought 3 kinds to date and I'm not happy with the taste of any. Tomorrow I see the nutritionists to upgrade to puree next Monday.
