pdallariva 57 Posted December 4, 2018 I am currently 2.5 years out after Gastric Bypass. I have had a lot of ups and downs but something new has started. I can eat and drink fine and all of a sudden I feel like I have a stomach virus and throw up any little sips I take. This usually last for about 4 hours and passes. I am not sure why this is happening and if it has happened to anyone else.

It could be some form of dumping. Pay attention to what you are eating and how long between eating and the issues. Are you still paying attention to fat and sugar? Is your Water in take still really good? Curious if it's a motility issue caused by either a food type or a lack of water in the intestinal tract. Or it could be a stricture of the intestines causing a partial blockage with certain foods. Have you reached out to your doctors/surgeon about it? 2 The 56 Bypass and GreenTealael reacted to this
pdallariva 57 Posted December 4, 2018 Yes still watching fat and sugar. My Water intake has been very low since day 1. It only seems to happen after drinking liquids. I left a msg for my dr. 2 GreenTealael and The 56 Bypass reacted to this
Frustr8 7,886 Posted December 4, 2018 Try instead of cups,mini-cups, a teaspoon slowly at a time. Sometimes Crystal lite, Imo or another gentle flavor over straight Water. I had my best luck with weak herbal tea that was warm. And I will be 3 months/13 weeks from my own RnY tomorrow ,still prone to vomiting et all. You see I have the dubious honor of being one of less than 5% that have it as rocky as I have had. I developed a stomal stricture and 5 post-surg ulcers, but with my surgeons help and my own inner strength I am and will be healing. And I do not regret or malign my surgery. A little more than 1 year ago I was 100 pounds heavier, in pain and no much of a future ahead. Although I do heal slowly, at 72 you often do, I will heal, reach my goal weight, be much smaller, but the 2 most important facets. I will be alive and have a much better future. I'm almost always on here and I ❤ helping others along the way!👸😛👼 2 GreenTealael and The 56 Bypass reacted to this
