I was always an Advil gal myself. Always had a bottle in my purse, in my car, and in my desk. To be honest, much of my “headaches” were usually sinus or blood pressure related. If I stay on top of my allergies, I really don’t need any Headache medicine... and the surgery brought my blood pressure down to a healthy number- so that trigger is gone.

The few times I’ve had to take something, Tylenol seemed to do the trick for me. It never worked before, but works well enough now.

Same here! Quitting Advil will be hard, but it’s interesting how I hear so many people say that Tylenol never worked for them pre-op but works great post-op. I wonder why that is. 🤔

Topical did nothing for me. I've been ordering from https://www.thecbdistillery.com/?homepage=new which has a good range of products and lots of information on their site about dosing. It's been really helpful as an anti-inflamatory for me.
I've been experimenting with dosing, and put the drops right under my tongue in the morning. It gets me through the bulk of the day, sometimes I'll take some more in the evening. Worth a try!
Cbdistillery and Lazarus Naturals are my favorites. I have RA and fibro, so not being able to take NSAIDS is a b**ch. But I also do the CBD under the tongue and it works well for me.

And it's recently been federally approved for farming, so every state should be able to get it now (CBD has 0.3% THC or less, so it's legal to sell/have/use in even non-MJ friendly states.

NSAIDS I gave up willingly, it gave me Hector,my original ulcer. Tomkitten can gradually delete them from my house, I give him total permission. I still have liquid and caplet Tylenol , and I am hoarding my Norco and Tramadol for emergencies. And I usually have them expire before I ever get them taken. Glad I don't have that doctor that required his patient to give him back the Norco if he hadn't taken them all. I know there is an opioid epidemic but I surely didn't contribute mine to anyone else.
And I never woyld!

My surgeon didn’t tell me this and I take a prescription NSAID daily for back pain and I had the sleeve in April and haven’t had any problems with taking them so far but I will definitely be asking when I return

I didn't know this until the morning of discharge from the hospital, 2 days after surgery, when the surgeon told me upon disharge no NSAIDS for life. Thankfully Tylenol works for me.

I find ,after my RnY, 1 Tylenol works as well as 4 Advil or Motrin used to, and it doesn't chew the heck out if my stomach lining. Who would have thunk it?

You will need to have an alternative solution.

If possible, birth control of a hormonal type is most useful when it comes to difficult periods. I would work this out now, before your surgery.

I have horrible cramps, and only ibuprofen would help mine as well. I did not plan for this ahead of time and it’s been a struggle.

Theres a huge list of meds my surgeon gave me I’m never supposed to take. I was aware of a few of them, but some of them were surprising.

Hello can you pass me the list your Dr.. gave you of the meds you should never take besides Ibuprofen? My Dr. never gave me that list

Good to know, wonder if you still need a letter of Medical Need or are they easily accessible? I haven't had a Migraine since my surgery, this means one of 2 things.
1) Surgery cured my tendencies
OR
2) I am way overdue for one, as LONG as it has been, it will be a BARN-Burner!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
