Highest weight

Recommended Posts

I'm on day 3 post o.p. and doing well.

I stepped on the scale, just like my doctor said NOT to do. Totally reminded me of being at my heaviest (at least heaviest recorded weight). it we at Weight Watchers, 365. I had to be taken from the "regular" scales to the industrial supper-fat scale in a stinky back room. I felt so bad, too fat for weight watchers. Never again, my friends, never again. I plan to live a healthy lifestyle. I hope not to get preachy or like a "dry drunk". I'll be working toward erasing (aka coming to terms with) bad-fat experiences. Anyone else??

Congrats on having surgery, and I'm so happy to hear you're doing well! I did the same thing, actually, and weighed myself right when I came home from surgery. Bad idea, I'd gained like 15 lbs and my family was like terrified I'd be upset. I just took more pain pills and took a nap. lol.

My highest weight was close to yours, 360! I feel like admitting it is so powerful, like there's no reason to be ashamed. I'm not less of a person because I weighed 360 lbs, and neither are you. You're about to go through so many changes, and I hope you know that you deserve all of the good that comes with this. You're amazing, wonderful and so strong. You're just getting started on his journey, and that's amazing! I wish you luck, happiness and so, so much positivity.

I feel ya, friend. My highest weight was 463. I have to get a physical once a year for my insurance at work, and when I went in to get weighed, they had to try 3 different scales before they found one that would weigh me. It ended up being a blessing, really, as I made up my mind right then that I had to do something. There was a Bariatric info session the next day, and I signed up and went to it. I haven't looked back since, and I'm 178 pounds lighter now.

Congrats! You got this! When I did this for the first time, I was thinking the same thing. The very first weigh in back in 2005 was at weight watchers and my weight at that time was only 3 pounds less than when I started my pre op diet this year. I am super glad to have come as far as I have in this short time. Right now I am nervous about being at 265.. that was the weight I could never get below ( although I did once when I was doing Atkins, I got down to 225).. so I have two more numbers to beat on the scale. The 265 ( am 3 pounds away from this) and the 225 my lowest ever to date!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
