What do you do when you can't stand Protein Shakes and sugar free anything.... so afraid this won't work.

Find something that you can stand. There are so many different brands of Protein these days it's crazy. Experiment and find what you like. I find it hard to believe that you dislike **ALL** Proteins and **ALL** sugar free stuff.

I literally do not like anything SF, so it is possible. My surgery is coming up and I have a plan to use honey, only slight amount, as I don't like really sweet drinks. I will transition to a small amount of frozen fruit.

You can do it with some small tweaks. Best wishes!

I would not suggest using a sugar substitute that is really just sugar by another name (it may slow down progress)

There are a plethora of non sugar substitutes, made from plants, fruits and vegetables, or in a lab. Try one until it fits.

The other viable choice is no sugar substitutes at all. You're sweet enough 🌈

Safe Journey!

I was not a big Protein Shake lover. And everyone seems to be stuck on Premier Protein, which I was not a big fan of. I only really like 2 flavors of premier Protein, the caramel and the strawberry. I was advised to go online and order some samples of different kinds and try them out. I also went to the local GNC and Vitamine Shop and picked out some sample packs to try out. It's usually not very expensive to purchase sample packs ($5 or less) and gives you the opportunity to try out some different brands and flavors, to find some you like. I also researched different additives that I may be able to add to make the shakes more palatable without over-sweetening. Adding some low carb low sugar, non-seed fruit is a big help. this may work for you, just keep in mind to review your carbs and sugar grams additives may add to the shake you select.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
