rs 1,473 Posted November 27, 2018 For the *losers* out there I'm curious whether you see yourself looking the same or different in the mirror compared to in photos, with both being at your current weight. I'll post my response as a comment so as to not influence your thoughts. 1 ProudGrammy reacted to this
Frustr8 7,886 Posted November 27, 2018 Worse in the mirror, lighting is usually off and I think I look more or pasty than I usually am. Keep in mind it is the edge of Winter in Ohio and I have lost most of not all of my summer tan. All that remains are freckles and age spots. And if I went back to wearing makeup I have to get a lighter shade, what I have now 2 shades too tanned and dark.😴🙈🙉🙊👌 1 rs reacted to this

rs 1,473 Posted November 27, 2018 I've lost 37 lbs since my Aug 15 surgery (total 52 lbs since pre surgery diet). I've been feeling pretty good with the weight loss so far. It's noticeable to me in my clothes and how I can now cross my legs with both legs hanging vertically like they're supposed to. I've actually looked at myself in the mirror more than I have in years. It's cool being able to see my collarbone and shoulders and my slimmer face and neck. This past weekend we took family photos for Christmas and when I looked through them I was a bit disappointed. My weight loss doesn't seem to be as noticeable in the pictures as it is IRL. Curious if anyone else has noticed that. 2 ProudGrammy and AndreaK. reacted to this
GreenTealael 25,446 Posted November 27, 2018 Both mirrors and camera lenses can distort an image in different ways. You also may look different in different mirrors or photos taken by different cameras. And what the eye sees may vary wildly from person to person as well. I would suggest picking a mirror or camera that gives you the image you like to the most (my mirror is from Walmart and it makes me look taller) and use it to record your progress. Congrats on your success! 2 ProudGrammy and rs reacted to this
