Ah, that's funny! I guess it could mean that too - nymphomaniac, :omg: but if you look up nymph on Wikipedia it will show you what it means - not at all offensive.

P.S.

The male counterpart to the "November Nymphos" could be the "November Satyrs." According to Wikipedia, satyrs "are often associated with male sex drive and vase-painters often portrayed them with uncontrollable erections." I know I'm going to get yelled at for this generalization, but what guy wouldn't want to be known by those characteristics?! :)

Debbie I'm with you. November Nymphs sounds like sex crazed November people. I know exactly what it means, just not hot about being referred to as a Nymph. LOL

Well, I LOVE the November nymphs (teehee), but I think most people should agree, and it seems pretty divided. How about the Energized Elevens, and we can have the energizer bunny as our mascot - he keeps going and going and going ...

i think i'll opt out of Nov Nymphs...lol

I did say it may not work for the guys.

For those worried about being known as nymphos...Nymphs are like fairies.

Nymphs were an important part of Greek mythology and religion. They were revered as the spirits of specific natural features - mountains, rivers, trees, and even groves were usually associated with a type of nymph. The name "nymph" comes from the Greek word that means "young woman", and so naturally these beings were considered to be female. Indeed, they were represented as lovely and eternally youthful creatures.

I know what the word means. The problems is that it implies, first of all that we are all women. Since I'm sure that is not going to be the case that is a problem. Also I don't like the association with nympho's. LOL

I love the Energized Elevens!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
