Support each other

Recommended Posts

Im still single and i think I should date someone who is going in the same path so we can easly get along and support each other, [emoji4]my family loves me so much and I do love them back and they are my priority but I feel like they are having difficulty in understanding what kind of support I need pre and post op. Specifically dite and food control wise. Ive struggled long enough with overweight but am now more scared to be alone in this journey. I wish I can find my other me somewhere nearby [emoji56]

Don't forget to check out any support group meetings in your area!

I agree, try and find a local support group. While being single is one thing, friends can support too. I am also single, but right now my main focus is on myself and sticking to the plan so I can get through it without having to worry about what somebody else might think

Sarah you can do this and you will be able to do this and do it successfully. This site has been so informational and inspiring to me. You are not alone period. My family loves me but did not understand why I had the surgery and after 5 weeks, they still don't. During your good days and bad days there are so many folks on this forum who can relate to what you are going through and will be able to provide you with some great suggestions and nuggets to help you to focus on your journey. I also understand you wanting to have someone nearby, but folks here are just a quick text/conversation away too! Again, you are not alone!

Just call any of the local hospitals. They will tell you if they host support meetings. In my area, all the meetings are open; it doesn't matter where you had surgery. Good luck!

And Mr "Just waiting and oraying" could be at that meeting, maybe if not him, his mama, his Aunt. There is somebody for you, don't fish in the polluted waters of townhouses and bars, you don't want a " bottom feeder" when you deserve a smooth sleek Rainbow Trout in your life! Go for it, You Do Deserve The Best!😝🍀😝

So Sarah M has the New Year brought you Mr Right, Mr Wrong or Mr Adequate but still hoping for Better? Or are you just waiting and watching as the Menu of Life passes by in front of you?

Hmmmm does Alex Need her know if there is a website for us recovering food addicts? Maybe someone should start one. Something like" On Journey Together" sounds better than Stretched Skin Society? L.O.L🎁😝📦

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
