Just started my 2 week liquid pre-op diet and today was hard but I know that as I get through this weekend it will be a lot easier. When I get to go back to work I will be busy and have less head hunger (Or at least that is what I am hoping for LOL). I know I can do this as I am a rule follower especially when I know I have to answer for myself like I will when surgery day rolls around. I am wrapping my head around the changes more and more as I can as I know this is not a temporary change and I look forward to this awesome tool that I get to use. Just trying to write some things out to keep myself accountable and motivated. I know after will suck big time but I figure it will not suck any more than watching my boys do life. I am so excited to get in there and do life more and more and more with them. I am an active mom with my loves but the thought of things like going down the slide with them instead of waiting at the end for them because I am too big to fit. I will stop rambling but trying to keep those things in the front of my head to get through those hard times.

it gets easier and easier as the day goes by. I would recommend getting some Protein Water to help you tide over. One thing I did was have broth for both lunch and dinner and shakes in between to keep some kind of normalcy during the two weeks.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
