5 weeks post op today!

Recommended Posts

Had my surgery 5 weeks ago today. Seems like longer! I did have a stall for a week or so but I got on the scale this morning and I’m down 2 more pounds!

I’ve been able to tolerate most foods. Sometimes I forget to chew well enough or eat to fast. I’m happy to say that I can drink coffee again. It tasted awful for the first few weeks.

I made cauliflower pizza the other night and it was delicious! My family had regular pizza and I ate mine and didn’t feel deprived. They all tried mine and loved it!

I see my doctor tomorrow for my follow up.

I hope you all have a happy thanksgiving.

That’s awesome! I’ll be 5 weeks tomorrow! I feel great except I am having a tough time with meat (and I LOVE meat!). I’m in a stall right now - I have a digital scare and I’ve been at 300.8 for a week!! Why couldn’t the stall have been at 299.8?? At least I’d be under 300 - lol! I’m hoping mine ends soon!

I loved cauliflower pizza with grilled chicken and red peppers prior to surgery. I was thinking of trying again but I wasn’t sure how I would tolerate it. Your post has given me hope that I might be able to (well, probably not with chicken!). Have you tried the Califlour crusts? They are amazing!!

Good luck with your follow up appointment and Happy Thanksgiving!!

Thanks Cyndie. We’re neighbors! I’m in CT!

Your scale will move soon but I know what you mean!

Im doing ok with meat. I just need to chew it really well! What’s the califlour crust? Is that a brand? I didn’t mind making it but if I can find a good prepared one, that would be better!

Happy thanksgiving to you too!

Hello neighbor!! I live in Coventry RI so I’m maybe 10 minutes from CT!

Yes - Califlour is a brand. I buy it online. They have several different flavors and they are all good! And if you check out the nutritional information, they are really good for you too!!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
