What do people bring to work for lunch? I'm trying to find some bariatric friendly ideas. I have microwave and fridge in the office.

With a microwave and refrigerator your option are endless!

Easy Cold foods:

cheese and fruit, boiled eggs, greek yogurt parfait, cottage cheese bowls, hummus and vegetable sticks, tuna salad, chicken salad, Protein chips and guacamole, nut butters on crispbreads

Easy Warm Foods:

chili, quiche, kinda creamy chicken and spinach, sorta teriyaki grilled tofu, chickpea stew, zoodle lasagna, ricotta bake, meatballs, various Soups and stews

Meal prepping really helps especially if you can freeze meals individually and take with you as needed

Safe Journey!

There are a number of ready made microwavable lunch options that fit a post-WLS diet, just need to check out the nutritional panel to be sure it fits your restrictions. I've found a most Healthy Choice Cafe Steamers that fit into my daily requirements/limitations for example.

Also, never sneer at a salad in a jar, turkey and cheese rollups, lettuce wraps of all kinds, low carb sandwich wraps of all kinds! Cans of sardines (your office mates will hate you), tuna pouches, apples and nut butters, carrots and hummus, rbp and hummus (anything and hummus). :D

I keep lunch fairly simple and try for super low low everything so I can have more cals at dinner without feeling guilty or stopping momentum.

These look good! I'll have to look around to see if I can find any place that sells them near me.

I make myself a bistro/bento box type thing - kind of like the starbucks ones if you're familiar with those. I bought these glass tupperware with three compartments to use. I put one or two roll-ups of deli turkey and provolone in the larger compartment, and then I mix up the other two. Sometimes a hard boiled egg in one and grapes in the other, or carrots in one and hummus in the other, or I'll mix and match those options. If you want more ideas for what to put in a Protein bistro box there are a lot of ideas on pinterest!

NB: I do the bistro boxes sometimes, but right now I'm actually filled up by a chobani nonfat greek yogurt. So I'll bring a Premier Protein for midmorning and then have a greek yogurt at lunch and I'm good to go!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
