FISHING FOR COMPLIMENTS

Recommended Posts

Fishing for compliments.

In normal life it's frowned upon as if proof of a character defect,

however

I think our population could use the confidence boost in a safe environment. Some days I need it more than protein...

If you need it too, feel free to share your selfies or stories and feel the love pour in...

Great idea!

I'm just so full as I write this because over the last 10 months, I'm down 108.7 lbs. I had a revision from the lap-band to SIPS and I couldn't be more happy. I did have some complications in the beginning which required a month long stay in the hospital, but even with that, I don't have any regrets! My life is on TEN!!!

Even though I have not shared publicly my WLS experience with friends, people seem to be genuinely happy for the new me. I've always socialized, but I'm even more eager to hang out with my friends, go on couples dates, business social settings, etc. because I can easily find something to wear and feel even more confident in myself.

I'm feeling great physically. No more back and knee pain. Off of all meds (blood pressure, cholesterol, symbicort breathing treatment) and off of CPAP machine for sleep apnea. Also, since having the lap-band removed as part of the revision, I no longer have acid reflux. While the vanity is great, the health benefits have me over the moon ecstatic! I'm sooooooooooo happy!

Isn't fishing for compliments something else?

Like "OMG, I'm so FAT!!!!1", hoping to get the answer: "Oh NOOO hon, a BMI of 19 is not FAT!!!!!1"

Yes and instead of the guile, I thought let's have some fun and just openly ask for it...

I don't know if that is really something to brag about but my last gastroscopy came back fine without any signs of inflammation in the stomach or esophagitis. The little scar I have down there has also healed well as it seems.

Ok, maybe it is something to brag about because after years of having "inflammation" I did some dietary changes and of course I don't have proof that this caused the healing but it would be a big coincidence since there was no changes in medication.

That is completely brag worthy!

🎉Congrats 🎉

Do you feel the difference also?

It's great to build each other up. All the struggles, hard work. All that we have overcome.

Brag away!

No, I was in fact pleasantly surprised since I still feel some heartburn when I'm late with my meds (I sometimes notice it when working late). I expected the usually inflammation stuff they always seemed to find during the past years.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
