I am only a week out. I am hoping they fade as the healing process continues.

I was in a car wreck last year and have all types of scars...surgical and from injury. I used ScarAway pretty early on most of my surgical scars and things have healed quite well. I'd recommend for use on anything. Here's a pic of what I used. Also, here's a pic of my wrist that I had surgery on to fix broken bones...left pic is right when I started using the gel and 2nd pic is today, however, the today pic is roughly how it looked ~4mo after using the gel. image.thumb.png.d233a1812b38a4bd8668cf21f3100e73.png

I wasn't aware of the ScarAway product. Looks like it's very effective.

I started using Bio Oil as soon as my incisions were healed enough for me to feel safe in applying. Maybe after 2 weeks? I use it after every shower and because it's made my skin so soft and supple, I use it everywhere. At 7 months out, my scars are so faded that I have to look for them. Bio Oil even helped with my stretch marks.

Yep! It's definitely effective. Your incisions don't have to be 100% healed before you can apply the ScarAway. It creates a protective barrier and helps healing. You can also buy silicone strips. They can get pricey, but the stuff is worth it. Not sure why I never tried Bio-Oil. My mom and sister swore by it for a long time for stretchmarks. Most of my tiny, thin scars are completely gone that I can't even take pics of them.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
