Tell me what your favorite Protein Powder is or favorite ready to go Protein Shakes.

I use a lot of Gold Standard and Isopure powders, Sparta Nutritions Proteins are damn tasty too. I don't typically drink RTD/RTG proteins anymore, but when I did I used Isopure Zero Carb RTD.

Prior to surgery I loved premiere Protein ready to drink. I can barely stomach them after surgery. I suggest getting different samples or starter packs form different brands. I ended up really liking Unjury Protein powder. Your taste buds change after surgery so this one wasn't as sweet or thick.

I’m 4 weeks post op so my taste buds have changed and then changed back lol! The Premier Protein is what I have. I do have some samples of the Unjury. I’ll give them a try. I like having one shake a day to make sure I’m meeting my Protein goals. Thanks for your response!

I’ll give the Spartan ones a try. They seem to have a lot of flavors. Is that the one on the BP site?

Does anyone have a suggestion for a good UNflavored powder, or do they all basically taste the same?

Have you ever tried the Unjury ready-to-drink?

I got the genpro unflavored powder and it’s justcwhat it says, unflavored! Lol. It’s also a smaller scoop and 30g of Protein.

I've heard it's wonderful, tasteless and easy to mix, but I've also heard there is a lawsuit because they claim to have 30 grams of Protein and it's more like 15, sadly.

Unjury unflavored is the best. Has no aftertaste and does not make your drinks or food thick.

Thank you, I will try this. The thickness is so gross, and at this stage it's harder to get down enough if it's thick.

Yes, they are great for when you're in a hurry. I highly suggest ordering their starter kit: https://www.unjury.com/unjury-starter-kit.html then you can try the flavors and see what you prefer.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
