Has anyone been a long time user of collagen in your foods/drinks and notice it has helped prevent sagging skin and wrinkles once your weight loss got in gear? You can mix it in anything hot or cold plus there’s usually about 10g of Protein per serving. Only downside is the extra expense I’m willing to endure again if it truly helps. Thoughts?

I think anyone that loses a large amount of weight, 100 pounds or more, is going to have some loose skin.

If you have good genetics, and are younger and in the lower end of that spectrum you may get lucky and not have much.

If you are a bit older, and have lost much more, you will likely see more skin.

I started to see quite a difference once I was losing over 120 pounds. Now I’ve lost close to 170, my arms and tummy have some loose skin, so do my inner thighs.

The problem is you cannot compare the difference in yourself with or without the collagen peptides. And you really cannot compare yourself to anyone else either when it comes to weight loss and excess skin.

If it was me, I would save the money to put towards plastics. Unless you have lots of extra cash lying around, it could be a waste of money.

Very cool! I haven’t had surgery yet so I’m looking for ideas to help lessen future Hair loss and preserve skin elasticity. I’ve taken CP before as part of my Keto diet, but I was going over on my Protein macros too easily and decided to quit the CP to free up some room for actual food. I never gave it time to see any results from it so I think I’m going to add it back just to get ahead of the game. 👍🏼

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
