laurileet 86 Posted November 14, 2018 I'm 6 months out, had the sleeve, lost 47 lbs. Just had a new round of blood draw and i'm high on cholesterol. I'm not eating ANYTHING with cholesterol in it and it's 270. I know my PCP will want to put me back on meds for it and i'm dreading it. I'm sooooo sick of taking pills. I exercise almost every day. working with a personal trainer. what else can I do? I eat mostly chicken and turkey, and veggies. Feeling really down about this. All other lab #'s are good or really close to good.
Swanton_Bomb 522 Posted November 14, 2018 I know lots of very thin, athletic, healthy people with high cholesterol. The genetic component is real and significant. 1 Wanda247 reacted to this
elcee 3,341 Posted November 14, 2018 I agree with the above, lots of people have genetic high cholesterol.
Wickedwinner 140 Posted November 17, 2018 Try adding organic turmeric to your diet either in food or by capsule. It seemed to lower mine by 50. I’m still on a low dose of Crestor but I’m in normal ranges. I haven’t had WLS surgery yet. Hoping I will get off it altogether after surgery. Frustr8 7,886 Posted November 17, 2018 Central Ohio Buckeye, but I have growled many times in support of your teams. And I am old enough to remember Adolph Rupp and the rest. Guess I am a Sport Nut, kinda of rare for a gal, but more than there used to be.🏈⚽⚾🏀and especially 🏇🏆.
mousecat88 2,281 Posted November 18, 2018 Your cholesterol could be familial. When I was 130lbs, my cholesterol was in the 300s. When I was 280lbs... still in the 300s. I don't expect it to change at all. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app
