Reina73 18 Posted November 13, 2018 I just started the program and I need to keep a food log. Is there an app that can help me with my Protein, fat.and calorie intake for my meals for the month that's easy to use? johnsons13 359 Posted November 13, 2018 I use Bariastic. It also has bariatric friendly recipes for different stages. It keeps up with calories, Protein, Water, weight, measurements, etc. It's super easy and simple to use. Not a bunch of bells and whistles. Some people can link it to their program and the dr's can see. Mine doesn't, but it's available for some people. It's a free app as well. 6 Hrsnjs, Ivette OJ, Dana me and 3 others reacted to this

johnsons13 359 Posted November 13, 2018 Oh, I forgot with the Bariastic, you can also time your chewing, between drinking and meals. It's a lot like My Fitness Pal, but like I said it's simple and focused on Bariatric consumers. 2 Reina73 and FluffyChix reacted to this
Ivette OJ 6 Posted November 13, 2018 I just started using Bariastic, and it’s really complete. And it can send you a report , measurements, food log etc. which you can print out. I love it! 2 FluffyChix and Reina73 reacted to this

wjgo 272 Posted November 14, 2018 I tried Bariastic, and stayed with MyFitnessPal. I even subscribe to MFP for the extra features.I prefer the MFP because it's simpler and less finger strokes to enter food, and I don't need to be hand held for chewing food.Sent from my XT1609 using BariatricPal mobile app 3 sillykitty, Jenwill630 and FluffyChix reacted to this
johnsons13 359 Posted November 15, 2018 I've always been hands free from my mobile while eating. I think the best thing is to try out the 2 recommended My Fitness Pal and Bariastic. Someone mentioned less key strokes for MFP and that was the whole reason I deleted it was there was too much going on and I just wanted a simple app to log foods. It felt more like a forum or social media than a simple site. But that's my opinion. I have checked out both. I'm sure there's more. I've even thought about going the old school route and just using plain pen and paper.
wjgo 272 Posted November 29, 2018 I know your question is in the pre-op. Pre-op, you eat a lot more food than post-op. Post-op I have been on normal foods for a long while now, and I generally eat right, so now I just mentally log my Protein (most important) and Water amounts on most days.Sent from my XT1609 using BariatricPal mobile app
