Jenbug83 1 Posted November 10, 2018 I had surgery on 10/31 and I am so dizzy/lightheaded every time I stand up. after my short walks I end up having to lay down for a couple hours before I can even sit upright again. I'm getting about 40-50 ounces of Water and eating 2 of my 3 meals. I also started my Vitamins the other day. any tips? I really want to be able to build my stamina but I'm not getting anywhere on that front. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J727AZ using BariatricPal mobile app
Orchids&Dragons 9,047 Posted November 11, 2018 Are you on any blood pressure meds? If so, doctor may need to adjust your dosage. Hope you improve soon.
marly18 23 Posted November 11, 2018 You could be dehydrated. Get more fluids any way you can. Soups, juice, popsicles.... 1 Orchids&Dragons reacted to this

marly18 23 Posted November 11, 2018 That can contribute to dehydration if it has a diuretic in it. Earlier this year I started taking BP med and lasix, within 2 weeks I ended up in the hospital severely dehydrated and in kidney failure as a result.
MarinaGirl 609 Posted November 11, 2018 You need to be consuming a minimum of 64 oz of Water a day. This is more important than food or Vitamins right now. It is hard because you can only sip a little at a time, so you must carry a bottle of water with you constantly. The biggest risk post-op is dehydration and orthostatic hypotension. 1 Jenbug83 reacted to this
Oct517 527 Posted November 11, 2018 6 weeks out and I still deal with getting light headed or dizzy when I stand up too fast. This never occurred before surgery. I know it has to do with not getting in enough Water and just the low number of calories I'm bringing in Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app
