well Its done! I feel really great today. yesterday I slept most of the day and walked last night. The GI test came back good this morning so on liquids. Only the nurse said to drink 1 ounce every half hour. I am now trying my chicken broth. It seems to hurt a little going down but overall I feel great. There was a bit of gas that I burping up once I started walking and drinking. My drain they said is filling too fast so the Dr stopped the blood thinners for now to see if it slows down.. but I have walked the hallway 3 times today so far and will try and walk each our especially since they stopped the blood thinners.. getting a little tired though.. sleepy rather.. man they wake you every hour during the night LOL.. Hopefully go home tomorrow.. heres to better days

Congrats! Is the drain filling up quickly still? If so and you're exceedingly drowsy, you might mention that to the nurse and just ask if she'd take your blood pressure. ((hugs)) and Take care of yourself!!

my blood pressure was super high yesterday and they didn't know why but it has come down. they are taking it every few hours.. I am more sleepy because I haven't slept all night with them constantly waking me up for something. walking down the hall makes me beat too but hopefully that gets easier.

thank you. I walked at least 5 times today up and down the hall. Still have the burbs everytime I try to drink something LOL. I am almost done with a 16 ounce bottle and I did have a bowl and half of clear broth today. I tried the Protein pack and that was gross lol. I am tired of laying in bed so I have been moving from the bed to the chair... the drain seems to have slowed as soon as he stopped the blood thinner. Looks like he is going to leave it stopped till Tuesday. I don't think I need it at all I will be walking daily as I plan on going to work on Monday.. I feel fine. So will see after I am off the iv I guess to make sure I am getting enough liquids..

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
