Stets 3 Posted November 8, 2018 Hello friends! I'm stocking the pantry for my liquid, pre-surgery diet. Thoughts?

notmyname 593 Posted November 23, 2018 I know you're asking about pre-surgery liquids, but I'd suggest stocking your freezer for the pureed food stage as well. I got a bunch of half cup glass mason jars and cooked and pureed some spinach, sweet potatoes, and black Beans and froze them. It has been a life saver in my post-surgery weeks when I just haven't felt up to cooking. Now I just make sure I have at least one mason jar of each in the fridge defrosted to eat when I'm hungry. Autumnchange 2 Posted November 23, 2018 I am a non-meat eating dairy free coeliac - so no exactly the same as vegan, but close. I used vegan Protein Shakes and bars for my pre-surgery diet, and still use them for post-surgery easy meals now that I am on solids. I used the shakes three-four times a day, sometimes with fruit or with powdered Peanut Butter to boost the Protein. Soy yogurt watered down isn't as bad as it sounds when you are hungry! Good luck.
