I just left my surgeon's office. I am officially scheduled for December 4th!!! I'm so excited. I've decided to go with the bypass and finally feel confident with my decision because I struggled between the sleeve vs. bypass. wishing you an amazing journey. Happy Holidays to us!

That is awesome! I’m waiting on insurance to approve and it’s nerve-wracking! Do you have to do the clear liquid diet 2 weeks prior? If so, you’ll be starting that during Thanksgiving right? That sucks!

I'm December 10th! I have my pre-op day long appointment on the 15th so I'll find out about the liquid diet then, but most likely have to do two weeks starting the monday after Thanksgiving. We're in this together! :)

Well 3 Big10, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, as soon as you find out where Honeybee winged in from, you will have a nice grouping. FYI my birthday is December 26, and my Wedding Anniversary was December 9th, I have been widowed 6 and a half years, not that anyone asked. I will be following you December Snowballs with great interest, I had a RnY 9 weeks ago and am back at OSU awaiting a return endiscopy, my 3rd. I have a stricture of my stoma they just can't get stretched so I can get off my liquid diet. No worries , it is relatively rare, but I still will never regret surgery, I have lost 60+ pounds since July 31st, something else wonderful to life, and as the Fat Caccoon cracks maybe the outside world will see the real Frustr8 bursting free. I always knew I was cute, smart, worthwhile to know but the outside 🌎 they see Fat and deprecate us all. Covers can be so blotched, torn &worn, open the Book Of Me, I am well worth the Read!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
