teemags48 19 Posted December 18, 2018 on 8/1/2018 I had gastric sleeve surgery. I'm down 48 pounds. I did not exercise for the first 2 months it was too hot out and to be honest I didn't want to. Now I walk 3 -4 times a week and loss between 1/2 lb and 1 1/2 lbs weekly It is slow but I just turned 70 and feel great. So happy I did this after a year of procrastination. 1 Wanda247 reacted to this

MegPRN 204 Posted December 18, 2018 My surgery date was August 16. I weighed 265 lbs on surgery day, and as of this morning, I weigh 198 - so I've lost 67 lbs in 4 months. I went through a period where I ate whatever sounded good, and didn't count my Protein - and then my hair started falling out. Reading the responses to this thread, it sounds like it's just something that happens around this time if it's going to happen, so maybe a coincidence? Either way, I'm tracking my protein again and making sure I get at least 80g per day. I try not to eat anything that doesn't follow the 10 calories/1 gram of protein rule. I'm not exercising at all, beyond walking around work and playing with my kids. I get between 800-1100 calories per day right now. I'm wearing smaller clothes (a pair of pants I bought at the beginning of October are now falling off me), but I don't really feel like I look any different. I feel more bones under my skin, and my tailbone gets sore more easily when I'm sitting, so I know I have less "padding", but I think it's happened so fast my image of myself in the mirror hasn't caught up. 1 Malcy reacted to this

Vizslamom 92 Posted December 20, 2018 8/22 sleeve. Down 50 pounds from the start of liquid diet on 8/15. No Hair loss problems. But crazy vertigo! Never heard about it as a side effect. Exercise poor due to vertigo. I focus on Protein and stay completely away from sweets except for fresh fruit. I can eat anything, just not much. Usually 1200 calories a day. Kathy p 1 Posted December 28, 2018 I had my gastric sleeve in August! I had a week on the liquid diet before surgery. Total I have lost 54 lbs. I get so discourage when I stall but I keep pushing. I am able to ride my horse and get down on the floor with my 2 under 2 grandsons ( different families). My biggest issue is diet Dr Pepper. My dr told me in the rules class that if it was iced or had a bit of Water in it then it would be okay. Not only am I retaining water but my fibromyalgia seems worse. Thinking I need to stick to water. On a good note, my clothes are hanging off of me and I’m down from size 22 pants to a 16/18. I never dreamt I could get out of size olus clothes !!! Hurray for August Sleevers! 1 rs reacted to this
