hanna123 0 Posted November 3, 2018 Hi everyone, I am new here and this is my first post. I am scheduled for surgery 11/15/18. I am a little concerned about some of the things I have read on here. Examples, weight stalling, this is a thing? & how long does this last? Also Water, I love water. Will I ever be able to gulp water again and will it cause nausea? Very concerned about that, most importantly. A little freaked out about that and a million other things going through my mind.
OlRachel 11 Posted November 3, 2018 I havent had surgery yet, but stalls happen in all weight loss programs so it should be expected here as well. The Water thing bothers me to and hopefully I can use a straw still afterwards. I heard it depends on surgeon.
blondie46 22 Posted November 4, 2018 I am 1 year and 3 months out and I drink Water just as normally as I did before surgery.
Foxbins 625 Posted November 4, 2018 Stalls happen, no big deal, just stick to your program and you should be fine. Your body has to undergo a lot of changes to lose the amount of weight we need to lose and it can take some time as things adjust. I can gulp Water if I want, no problem. I also use straws from time to time, no problem.
MargoCL 677 Posted November 4, 2018 I’m almost 3 months post op, and the ability to gulp Water shouldn’t be worrisome. The items you’re concerned with are minimal compared to the benefits of wls. I drink water everyday and sometimes I can gulp, sometimes I can’t. Weight loss stalls happen w/ or w/o surgery. And the length of time it occurs is different for everyone. Good luck with your decision! 1 kygirl68 reacted to this
