Specifically around this Halloween candy. Is it a tiny piece each day? One day where u indulge?

Im so newly post-op n candy in the house is such a big temptation. I was hoping i would be repulsed by it. I hope, as i get time under my belt with no sugar ( 1 goal i set for myself), i will feel less drawn toward it.

I dont want to be the sole failure of the world with this surgery. I know some peeps eat what they want n the restriction keeps their weight in check......

Your thoughts?

First, we are sugery twins :-) YAY! I am really struggling with the candy in the house. I started a thread boasting about my willpower, and yesterday I broke down and ate a Resees PB cup. It was the first piece of candy I had. It was the first piece of food I have had since my surgery and after hosting a Halloween party for teenagers filled with party food of every sort. The candy is still calling my name and it won't shut up. I told it to get out of my house but it didn't listen. We have a wheelbarrel full of it due to over-zealous trick-or-treating kiddos from my house. I gave a bag of it to a lady at the park today, made my son go home and get it LOL. The struggle is real. I have also pondered this question and hope I am not the poster child of failure either. What I have come up with is this: as soon as I am allowed, I will work in a treat for myself, ..and maybe even everyday, a very small one albeit, because, just that 1 Resees peanutbutter did wonders for my morale, (lol), it was enough, made me happy dance,, AND...::wait for it::: and I didnt want anymore!!! and that made me happy: a win win.

So for me, treats will not be out of the question. For me, I am grateful to be able to eat 1 and feel satisfied, a completely new sensation lol.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
