traveler 0 Posted November 11, 2007 Hello, I was banded on 11/05/07, came out of the anesthesia and have been ravenous ever since! My Dr. gave me a plan that said I could move on to mushies on the 7th day. I ate mashed taters today and was able to eat 2 cups with no feeling of fullness whatsoever. Others have posted that I may be a fast healer (which I usually I am) Does this mean that I can go in for a fill sooner? I am eager to get on with this (especially before the holidays start and I am faced with temptation) What is the soonest anyone has ever gone in for their first fill? Thanks! You will have to ask your doc, docs are different typically its 6 weeks post op. You have no restriction right now , so nothing is going to keep you feeling " full" other than what you eat. Your GOING To feel Hungry , that's just the way it is right now. follow your doctors orders. what I did because i was allowed to per docs orders was I ate when i was hungry , i actually found i was not eating ENOUGH . So keep that in mind. I was stopping myself before i felt full because i was afriad of messing something up . So if he lets you eat more than 3 meals a day , like 3 meals plus Snacks eat that , eat as often and as much as you can and drink liquids. Hang in there until you get your fill. Its not a magic band you have to hang in there for a while. MIndy
GayleTX 1 Posted November 12, 2007 Just keeping repeating "Just because I CAN doesn't mean I SHOULD!" That's the mantra of bandsters for the first few weeks until you can get some restriction. It's the hardest part of the experience but very well worth it. You can do this!!!
coltonwade 27 Posted November 12, 2007 totally agree with Gayle, You will feel like you can eat " normal" food and normal portions. Like she said , Just because you can doesnt mean you SHOULD Mindy
