Surgery was Monday, things feel weird

Recommended Posts

Hi. My gastric bypass was Monday. Monday night was rough but by Tuesday I felt much better. Water has been going down no problem as long as I take my time. Today was my first day on full liquids. My Protein Shake was a little harder but I did it. My plan allows for no fat, low sugar, low calorie greek yogurt on the full liquid stage. I got about half of that down before I felt terrible. Very sharp pains and short of breath, I hoping walking and taking a break from any fluids will help. Think I'll wait another few days before I try greek yogurt again.

I had that too at first. I think it's a combo of gas and your little pouch saying stop. Definitely take it easy with portions. I could only fit in about 1/3 a small yogurt at first, but 5 weeks in I can eat almost a whole one.

Congrats on a successful surgery! Take it slowly, you'll figure it out!

I feel better this am. I never would have thought half a yogurt would make me feel like I just had Thanksgiving dinner.

Doesn't have quite the same satisfaction though! 😊

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
