Tim A 1 Posted October 31, 2018 Does anyone feel like the sleep apnea test is just a money maker? Lung doctor told me I’m really healthy but need to show they checked me out with something. They sent me home with a wristband monitor and said they irregularities with the results. They didn’t take into consideration I was up many times during the night checking that the finger monitor was still attached. Feeling like I’m just a money maker. 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
insta_adventurer 1,046 Posted October 31, 2018 Well- fear not. sleep apnea increases blood pressure and puts a lot of strain on your heart. It can also lead people to stop breathing post-surgery. That’s why they want to see if you’ve got it and treat it if you do. I know- I had to do the tests and wear the mask for awhile. It’s a bit of a pain. But we do what we have to do to get us to where we want to be. 🙂 1 1 Frustr8 and FluffyChix reacted to this
Born in Missouri 1,264 Posted November 1, 2018 I use a C-pap. You could have healthy lungs and still have sleep apnea. There is no correlation between the two. The test results this time around are obviously flawed. Do you sleep alone? If not, does your partner hear you snore? 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
MIZ60 1,291 Posted November 1, 2018 My husband is a normal weight with healthy lungs and has sleep apnea. Used CPAP machine for years but now has a custom made appliance that fits over his teeth and then locks together (they look about like teeth bleaching trays) which is SO MUCH BETTER for him. He had a follow up sleep study recently that showed massive improvement. He never snores at all anymore. 1 1 Frustr8 and FluffyChix reacted to this
