Bish45 3 Posted October 31, 2018 Hi Forum. I had my ESG 6 days ago and I am still suffering from extra gas in my body that gurgles overtime I stand up or lay down. Also I am suffering from sever shoulder pain. Has anybody had any experience with this? 1 FluffyChix reacted to this
Hop_Scotch 1,632 Posted October 31, 2018 I had my ESG two weeks ago. I was fortunate not to feel any gas pain, though I did have stomach cramping for until day three. The gurgling is to be expected I think, for some people they gurgle a lot others don't. Have you trying massaging the colon see if you can shift some of the gas. It can be soft massage doesn't have to be hard. This is a massage that may help some people with Constipation, if you follow the same pattern but not the strength it may help https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zI4h_GXSJUk I have heard more gurgling from my stomach its not particularly loud so I haven't been too concerned about it. I didn't have any shoulder pain, if you are sure it's related to the ESG its likely gas so I guess lots of walking and it may help if someone rubbed your back. 1 FluffyChix reacted to this

Are you using it? 1 FluffyChix reacted to this

Also I am suffering from sever shoulder pain. Has anybody had any experience with this?I didn’t experience any gurgling but I had some fierce shoulder pain after VSG 3 months ago. It gradually faded and was gone after 2-2.5 weeks. Hang in there. 1 FluffyChix reacted to this

FluffyChix 17,415 Posted October 31, 2018 Hope you feel better soon. For me, walking was the best remedy (along with the incentive spirometer) for the gas and shoulder pain. LOL, the tummy gurgles will be your companion for a little while ahead. Don't think of them as gas gurgles, think of them as your little friend who lives inside your new anatomy! James Marusek 5,244 Posted October 31, 2018 In general the level of pain declines on a daily basis after surgery. The pain in your shoulder may be of concern. Generally when you are discharged from the hospital, you are given discharge instructions, they include a number of conditions which should be reported to your surgery team. On my list one of the conditions is "New onset of upper back or left shoulder pain." So if the pain is in your left shoulder, you may want to report that condition to your surgeon. 2 libbyleeb and FluffyChix reacted to this

I think part of it was a little infection I experienced due to a little leak that has been treated. The pain has gotten much better after the treatment. 1 Hop_Scotch reacted to this
