GabrielleSimone 4 Posted October 30, 2018 1 week out of surgery. Approved to start soft meat Protein. Went to Qdoba got a kids chicken bowl with blk Beans, and cooked peppers and just a lil queso. Got home chop 3-4 table spoons of it to fit in 2 of the 1 oz medicine cup. Ate each cup in 15mins, a total of 30 and was confused that I didnt feel EXTREMELY FULL ppls have been telling me i would fell. I didnt feel full but I didnt feel hungry either, this scared me because since my stomach is smaller I feel like I should be full but I'm not. I'm scared I don't not what to fail and fall I the mind games because I dont feel full that I should eat more. Has anyone experience this? 1 GreenTealael reacted to this
Vegasurvivor 85 Posted October 30, 2018 At one week I was drinking Protein Shakes, sugar free popsicles, Jello, maybe a few bites of yogurt. No way thinking of getting a chicken bowl. Call your surgeons office or doctor cause your food plan is nothing I've ever heard one week after surgery. GreenTealael 25,430 Posted October 31, 2018 Everyone will feel differently. You may not get the full sensation until you are overfilled and that's no fun. It was suggested to me because I never got the signal fullness either early on that if there is a disconnect between the stomach and brain satisfied feeling, use Portion Control in it's place as a back up (1/8 cup, 1/4 cup, 1/3 cup , etc) Contact your team for more details! 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
Vegasurvivor 85 Posted October 31, 2018 Take it slow. You got a baby's stomach now. Eat as you would feed a baby. Try one food at a time and see how it goes. Then add another soft food. No reason to rush this process. Weigh or measure your foods also according to what your doctor told you. GabrielleSimone 4 Posted October 31, 2018 These are all such great comments. Thank you so much for this Intel. All this is so very new to me and I have the BIGGEST FEARING OF FAILING. I DO NOT wnt to fail. I feel this is my only chance and I have to get this right. But im glad to know that this ok and some ppl have experience this and there are ways around this. I appreciate your words so much, you have no idea how much better u made me feel. I was literally in tears earlier today because of my upset and fear of not feeling that full sensation. I'm sure my liquid intake before the approval of eating Protein meats had much to do with my not so quite fullness as well. Today made me realize how important fluids are so that when it's time to eat I may feel the fullness I need to train my brain my limit...maybe?!? 🤷♀️
