Gonnabskinni 0 Posted October 29, 2018 Has anyone had the stretta procedure or Linx procedure for GERD post op VSG?
Frustr8 7,886 Posted October 29, 2018 Anybody else want to know about Linx? We had a surgeon that was first in this area to do it. A magnet-containing strip is placed around the lower part of your esophagus, and yes, it does keep reflux from coming up and putting you at risk for Barretts Esophagus. That is the good part. The bad part; that strong row of magnents also keeps you from vomiting. If you accidently or by plan ingest too many pills or poison, you basically signed your own death warrant. Unless an endoscopy can through, and I'm not sure they can, to pump you out. It scares the bee-jeebers out of me! 1 Gonnabskinni reacted to this
Alex Brecher 10,515 Posted October 29, 2018 When I had the Lap-Band I looked at stretta due to acid reflux and Barretts Esophagus. Linx is a very interesting technology. I never realized that it limited your ability to vomit if necessary. I revised to a Gastric Bypass and that's cured my reflux 100%. 1 Gonnabskinni reacted to this
