Frustr8 7,886 Posted October 28, 2018 8 to 5 odds he will, it would only benefit you to do so. Among my,other quirks I collect How Many Jokes How many surgeon's does it take to change a light bulb? Answer Only 1, but why don't we remove that socket? You're not using it and it will only cause you trouble in the future. So my best guess: He will. My general surgeon -way back- removed my appendix along with the gall bladder that really needed the surgery!😷
GreenTealael 25,430 Posted October 28, 2018 Usually it has to be deemed medically necessary (insurance) but ask anyway...

Ed_NW 684 Posted October 28, 2018 It seems like in the older WLS videos I watched, they would automatically take it out. I think there are better medicines now to prevent gallstones. I know rapid weight loss will cause stones unless you're medicated. I wonder if while they are poking around in there, they can tell if you have stones and then cut that thing out? mommytina 3 Posted October 28, 2018 I had a scan done prior to my surgery and it showed my galstones. 1 Ed_NW reacted to this

April Marie 69 Posted October 29, 2018 I am 41 and I have stones and sometimes after I eat I have to go to the bathroom right away and the other day I had some pain in my right sideSent from my 5049Z using BariatricPal mobile app
gbjourney6 10 Posted November 13, 2018 I had my Gastric bypass 7 weeks ago. Before the surgery they saw a lot of gallstones and like you I would eat and have to run to the bathroom. My surgeon said it was not that bad and we can remove it in about 6 months after the surgery. Fast forward last week I had a bad attack which was the pain in the right side that radiated to my back. I also had bad dry heaving and vomiting. I went to the ER and they said we have to take it out now. So please have a conversation with your primary and surgeon. 1 Wanda247 reacted to this
