Pay close attention to what you are eating and when the symptoms recur. Also, it's pretty common for people to become less tolerant to lactose post op, make sure your supplements aren't "Protein concentrate" as these have higher levels of lactose than milk does because it's just concentrated milk Proteins. "Protein Isolate" has little to no lactose. If your current Protein is a concentrate, switch to an isolate and see if that helps any. 1 SteveS1966 reacted to this
Lynnlovesthebeach 626 Posted October 26, 2018 How much Iron are you taking? That could be responsible for the green color. 1 SteveS1966 reacted to this
Frustr8 7,886 Posted October 26, 2018 Are you eating peas, cooked greens or drinking Grape juice? Those are notorious Green Makers!🌿🐆🌳🌲 1 SteveS1966 reacted to this
MargoCL 677 Posted October 26, 2018 My Vitamin supplements had Iron in them and I noticed in those early days post-op that the iron was creating "green" stools and sometimes very loose. Watch your diet and if you determine it's not your supplements doing the deed, check back with your surgeon. 1 SteveS1966 reacted to this
SteveS1966 0 Posted October 26, 2018 Hi and thanks for your responses. Im taking 10ml of Iron solution per day and 2 multivits and mineral. The supplement is the 100% whey Protein I was advised. not eating much greens really.
photogirl70 142 Posted October 26, 2018 I'm glad you asked about this. I had green stools on my list for my upcoming 3 months NUT meeting. I still have them and I'm going to chalk it up to Iron. My mv had 45 mg of Iron.
J San 1,071 Posted October 26, 2018 Had the same at the beginning of my recovery. Still have green stools now but not so much loose. I haven't given it a 2nd thought, just figured it's the greens and meds I am consuming.
