I Hate Food Sometimes!

Recommended Posts

Ugh. It’s been a several months since I had the local Chinese food and gotten sick, so my brain must’ve forgotten how sick I got last time because I got some tonight for supper.

ugh. It made me so sick. Why am I such an idiot? Ugh! Dummy!

Dear future me,

Should you think Chinese food sounds good...you’re wrong. You’ll end up puking, taking your Zofran, and laying in the tub while hot Water rains down on you until your stomach feels calm enough to lay in bed without wanting to dry heave. This feels terrible, you do not want to feel like this again. Don’t do it, rather don’t EAT it.

With Love,

Me

Blahhhh!

That doesnt sound good? Was it a particular food that caused the issue? I know a lot of chinese food is full of sugar. Maybe something like Thai or Vietnamese would be easier to tolerate. They seem to be lighter and fresher.

I’m laying in bed, all has pretty much passed, I feel better. I’m sure it was all the carbs and sugar! I just needed to share how much of a dummy I was!

I think I'm just nervous whats about to happen after surgery. I know everyones different and will have different reactions. I think I'm nervous about slipping up and I'm sure I will and hope not to do it again, its all a learning curve.

I'm sure we will all be there at some time ot another. Chinese food would definitely be one of my downfalls.

What surgery did you have?

What stage are you at?

What is on your plan that your Dr gave you?

Then there is weighing up the can against the should. Sometimes just because you can do something doesnt mean you should. Is pizza a trigger food for you. Will eating it be the start of falling back into bad habits.

You may want to consider making a pizza without a base ( just use the cheese and the toppings) or there are lots of recipes online for pizza made with a cauliflower base that are healthier than the regular kind

9 weeks out and can't handle Chinese plus most meats. Makes me very angry because I used to love those foods.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
