MikeC 0 Posted November 11, 2007 I just noticed that there is not much discussion on body wraps here. I lost 100lbs and as you can imagine have a lot of loose skin. It doesn't bother me enough to go in for surgey so I started going for body wraps and they really help a lot! After two wraps, I lost several inches and my skin is noticably tighter. It's clearly not the same a a Tummy Tuck or anything surgical, but I think its a great option us bandsters can consider. The wrap I ended up going for was a suddenly slender body wrap. You can google them and get a lot of info about how they work. I have no conneciton to the company, but just wanted to let others know that in my case at least it really worked. I've received a lot a great info from this board, pre and post surgey and just wanted to pass this info along. Cost at the place I went to here in NY was $135, not including tips Good luck to all MikeC
Jachut 487 Posted November 11, 2007 You dont see it mentioned much do you. I dont have a desperate requirement for a Tummy Tuck, but I'm flabbier than I want to be due to skin that's not quite "loose", perhaps half a size too big. But expense is my problem, it will have to wait till I"m working again.
nume130 0 Posted November 11, 2007 I'm wondering how effective thermage is? Another non surgical intervention- maybe for flabby areas not really bad enough for surgery?????

Jachut 487 Posted November 15, 2007 I'm really interested in this, there's a place near to me where I can get it done, now I've done a bit of research. I havent suffered from a lot of loose skin but I'm more jiggly than I would have been had I never got fat and would dearly love to be firmer. I've been for a Lipo consultation and was pretty much told, dont waste your money sweetheart, just lose 7 or 8kg more to get rid of the last of the fat, but lipo is only going to leave your skin even looser. As its OK now, the CS said I'd be a fool to to it. So I'm really thinking about this. It seems a bargain compared to $13,000 worth of lip.
wombat712 2 Posted November 16, 2007 I have had 2 body wraps and I loved them!! It really did sinch in the skin. Of course both times I had it done, I got pregnant shortly thereafter. (No worries about that now  ) I'm thinking I want to do it again. It wasn't that high the last time I had it done (but that was 10 years ago). My only issue was that it made my back hurt because you are wrapped so tight. You have to stay wrapped for about an hour, they keep dousing your with Fluid and you have to move around wiggling and various things to help it out.
TheGh0st 9 Posted November 16, 2007 I wonder if they do something similar just for the arms and thighs?

Jachut 487 Posted November 19, 2007 I've decided I really want to try this. I may get a breast lift but I wont be having any other surgery, I have some flabbiness as a result of weight loss but not enough to justify the cost of scarring of a Tummy Tuck. Will let you all know how I go!
BeckyinTexas 3 Posted December 11, 2007 I have lost over 260 pounds and needless to say, I have lots of "party favors" (excess skin). I can cover up and girdle up lots of it but the skin where I used to have my double chin looks like a turkey neck. Well, I went last Saturday to Body Wraps and had the facial wrap done. I can see a difference after only one wrap. They told me up front that I'd probably need 2 or 3 to get the results I wanted and I was very leary that it wouldn't work at all but I had a coupon and it was going to be $30 so I went ahead. I now have my second appointment for the full body wrap December 28th. I'll let you all know if that works for me or not. I'm sure hoping that it will work!!!!!
